WHERE IS GOD?

In life’s most difficult moments—when the storm rages and answers seem far—one question echoes in the hearts of many: “Where is God?” It’s a question born out of pain, confusion, and longing. But it’s not a new question. Throughout the Bible, even the most faithful servants of God asked this very thing. King David cried, “How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever?” (Psalm 13:1). Job, in his deep suffering, lamented that he couldn’t find God no matter where he looked (Job 23:8–9).
Yet the truth woven through the Scripture are:

1. GOD IS WITH YOU—EVEN IN THE FIRE
The story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in Daniel 3 reminds us that God doesn’t always keep us from the fire—but He joins us in it. As they were thrown into the blazing furnace, King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished: “Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?... I see four men loose… and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.” – Daniel 3:24–25.
God didn’t prevent the trial, but He revealed His presence in it. Just like them, you’re not alone. He walks through the fire with you, ensuring you come out unscathed and promoted.

2. GOD IS WORKING BEHIND THE SCENES
When Joseph was betrayed by his brothers, falsely accused, and thrown into prison, it may have looked like God had abandoned him. But later, Joseph declared: “You thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass… to save much people alive.” – Genesis 50:20.
God was never absent. He was positioning Joseph for a greater purpose. In your own life, what seems like a delay or detour may actually be divine strategy. He’s arranging people, aligning resources, and preparing you for impact.

3. GOD HAS PROMISED NEVER TO LEAVE YOU
Over and over again, Scriptures affirms God’s unwavering presence: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you… When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned.” – Isaiah 43:2
“I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” – Hebrews 13:5 His promises are not based on how we feel but on who He is—Emmanuel (God with us)

FINDING GOD IN THE MIDST OF TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS
Finding God isn’t about climbing a spiritual mountain or attaining perfection—it’s about opening your heart to the One who’s already reaching for you. The beauty of God is that He’s not hiding. He wants to be found. “You will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.” – Jeremiah 29:13 (NKJV). So how do you seek Him?

1. SEEK HIM THROUGH HIS WORD
The Bible is more than a book—it’s a living revelation of who God is. As you read, God speaks, comforts, corrects, and reveals Himself. King David said “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” – Psalm 119:105 Start with the Psalms if you're hurting, the Gospels if you're seeking Jesus, or Proverbs if you need wisdom. His voice comes alive even in the Scripture.

2. CALL OUT TO HIM IN PRAYER
He said “Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me” –Psalm 50:15 NKJV. Prayer isn’t a formula—it’s a conversation. Whether through tears, whispered words, or silent thoughts, when you talk to God, He hears you. “The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.” – Psalm 145:18
You don’t need perfect words—just an honest heart. Ask Him to reveal Himself, and He will.

3. BE STILL AND AWARE
In a noisy world, we often miss the quiet ways God speaks. Sometimes, finding God requires us to slow down, unplug, and simply be still. “Be still, and know that I am God.” – Psalm 46:10
Create space in your day—through meditation on Scripture, worship, or silence—where your heart can tune in to His presence.

So, where is God in your pain? He’s right there with you. In the hospital room. In the courtroom. In the moments of heartbreak. In the quiet prayers. He’s working, healing, guiding, and preparing your next chapter. Lift your eyes. Look beyond the immediate. Trust His heart, even when you can’t trace His hand. Because the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).
