THE POWER OF SPOKEN WORDS
The most potent force in the universe is the force of words. Through them, God created the entire world; He framed everything with His words. Words are not mere sounds or symbols strung together. They are powerful tools capable of building or destroying, healing or wounding, uplifting or discouraging. From the beginning of time, God demonstrated the power of words. With His voice, He spoke the universe into existence, calling light out of darkness and order out of chaos.
Our words are no different, they carry the power to shape our realities and those of others. Jesus said in Mark 11:23 (KJV), "For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith." Echoing this truth, Pastor Chris said, "Words release spirit-power." That is, the words we speak do more than communicate—they activate spiritual forces that bring change. When we declare God’s promises, we release power into our circumstances, enabling the supernatural to manifest in our lives. Proverbs 16:24(KJV) says, "Pleasant words are as a honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones." Words of encouragement, faith, and hope have the power to heal emotional wounds and inspire renewed strength.
Jesus taught that our words are a reflection of what resides in our hearts. In Matthew 12:34 (KJV), He said, "Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh." This underscores the importance of filling our hearts with God's Word, allowing His truth to shape our thoughts and, ultimately, our speech. As Pastor Chris said, "God's idea is for us to become the Word of God, in such a way that men can read the Word by looking at our lives." This profound statement challenges us to embody God’s Word in such a way that our lives reflect His truth and love.
To harness the power of words effectively, we must learn to Speak Life, Guard Our Speech, Declare God’s Promises and Be Quick to Listen and Slow to Speak.
Words are a divine gift that should be wielded with care and purpose. They are tools for transformation, capable of influencing lives, shaping destinies, and advancing God's kingdom on earth. Let us embrace the power of words with intention and purpose. Speak love, hope, and encouragement into every situation, knowing that the words we choose today will shape the realities of tomorrow. By doing so, we not only transform our own lives but also inspire those around us to rise to greater heights. Always remember, "Your tomorrow will be a reflection of the words you speak today, so speak life-giving words." Pastor Chris
